Miss Priss Tea

A small business bringing the classic tradition of afternoon tea back to modernity.  For three years I enjoyed creating beautiful, elegant tea events across Central Virginia.

CREATIVITY

I loved partnering with other local businesses to expand our audiences together,

Bridal Suite Tea Service

One of our most popular bookings was something I termed our Bridal Suite Tea Service. Having taken part in many bridal parties myself, I knew that the morning of the wedding when the bride and bridesmaids were getting their hair and makeup done was a time when often mimosas were provided but food was forgotten.  I designed this service to provide small bites of delicious nourishment alongside cups of caffeine for the long and exciting day ahead.  And of course, the fine china created wonderful photo opportunities on what many might consider the most photographed day of our lives.

CHALLENGES

SERVING ON FINE CHINA

Transporting delicate china from location to location was tricky.  At first, I wrapped each piece in bubble wrap before packing them in plastic bins. Since I couldn't always wash dishes onsite, new bubble wrap needed to be purchased for every event.  That proved to be costly after just the first few events, and this led to the creation of washable covers for each piece.

COMMUNITY

Giving back to the community was an important pillar of the business.  I was always happy to support local nonprofit organizations, especially those focused on the empowerment of
women and youth.
